Description

This research addresses the development of an empirical correlation for the prediction of global void fraction for various liquids and gases substances with various thermo-physical properties.

A coupled experimental/numerical approach is used to study the fluid dynamics of the system: lab- and pilot-scale tests are used along with CFD simulations. The goal of this coupled approach is the development of a model for global void fraction predictions as an input to interface mass transfer empirical models at different operating conditions.
